White House Picks Choctaw Nation To Fight Poverty In Okla.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is one of the first five groups to test run a new federal anti-poverty program called “Promise Zones,” which also include communities in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Antonio and southeastern Kentucky. Tribal leaders hope the initiative will bring more opportunities to their impoverished rural community in southeastern Oklahoma.
